Lead Solar Installer

You run the crew on-site, make sure the install matches the design plans, and troubleshoot problems that blueprints didn't anticipate — like a roof that's rotting, an electrical panel from the 1970s, or a homeowner who keeps asking if they can watch. NABCEP certification makes you the expert on the roof, and the pay jump is significant.

What you'll actually do

• 01Lead a crew of 3-5 installers through the entire installation process
• 02Read and interpret electrical and structural blueprints
• 03Troubleshoot on-site issues that the design team didn't account for
• 04Perform electrical testing and system commissioning
• 05Ensure all work meets NEC code and local permitting requirements
• 06Train junior installers while keeping the project on schedule
