Purchasing Agent
Office & AdminYou buy things for companies — supplies, equipment, raw materials — and your job is to get the best price without sacrificing quality. You'll negotiate with vendors, compare bids, and manage purchase orders while everyone in the building acts like their supply request is the most urgent thing in the world. You're basically a professional shopper, except everything has a purchase order number and three layers of approval.

What you'll actually do
- 01Negotiate prices with vendors who start high and act like a 2% discount is doing you a massive favor
- 02Compare bids from suppliers and choose the one that won't deliver late, overcharge, or send the wrong item
- 03Process purchase orders and track deliveries that are somehow always 'in transit' for three weeks
- 04Manage vendor relationships that range from 'trusted partner' to 'they ghosted us mid-order'
- 05Ensure compliance with procurement policies that exist because someone once bought a hot tub on the company card
- 06Forecast inventory needs using data, gut instinct, and whatever the supply chain feels like doing this quarter
