What you'll actually do
- 01Call lighting, sound, and fly cues with split-second timing during live performances where there's no 'take two'
- 02Run rehearsals, track blocking changes, and distribute daily reports that nobody reads until they need information from them
- 03Manage the egos, schedules, and emotional states of actors who consider every performance a personal crisis
- 04Coordinate between design departments — lighting, sound, costumes, props — who each think their department is most important
- 05Solve problems backstage in real-time during performances without the audience ever knowing something went wrong
- 06Maintain the prompt book — the master document of the entire show — with the precision of an air traffic controller
