DevOps Engineer

Technology

You build and maintain the pipelines, infrastructure, and automation that let developers ship code without the whole system catching fire. You live in the world of CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, and monitoring dashboards. When production is healthy, nobody knows you exist. When production is down, you're the most important person in the building. The on-call rotation will age you in dog years.

  • 03Respond to production alerts at 3 AM and troubleshoot issues with the cognitive clarity of a sleep-deprived raccoon
  • 04Write infrastructure-as-code and fight the urge to just SSH into a box and fix it manually
  • 05Automate everything that can be automated and then automate the monitoring of the automation
  • 06Explain to developers that 'it works on my machine' is not a deployment strategy
