Host/Hostess
Food ServiceYou're the first face customers see when they walk into a restaurant, which means your job is to smile at people who are hungry, impatient, and convinced they made a reservation they definitely did not make. You'll manage the waitlist, seat tables strategically, and absorb complaints about wait times with the grace of someone who has no control over how fast people eat.

Guest seating logistics and server section balancing
What you'll actually do

- 02Manage the waitlist and table rotation to keep servers happy, guests happy, and the restaurant making money
- 03Answer phone calls from people who want a table for 12 on Friday night at 7 PM with 30 minutes' notice
- 04Seat guests at tables strategically — balancing server sections, table turnover, and party size like a logistics puzzle
- 05Handle complaints from guests who are angry about the wait, the table location, the music volume, or the existence of other customers
