Paralegal

Business & Finance

You'll do 80% of a lawyer's work for 40% of the pay and somehow still feel essential — because you are. You'll become an expert in organizing ten-thousand-page document dumps, tracking down witnesses who don't want to be found, and knowing more about the case than the attorney who gets to argue it in court. Filing deadlines are non-negotiable, Bates stamping haunts your dreams, and you'll proofread briefs written at 2 AM by a partner who absolutely thinks they don't need proofreading. The attorney gets the credit. You get the satisfaction of knowing.
