Sustainability Consultant

You help organizations reduce their environmental impact, which means you audit energy use, analyze supply chains, and write reports recommending changes that executives will either champion or shelve depending on the quarterly earnings call. You'll measure carbon footprints, develop ESG strategies, and navigate the space between genuine environmental commitment and corporate greenwashing. The cynics and the true believers both need you.

What you'll actually do

• 01Audit organizational energy use, waste streams, and supply chains to quantify environmental impact with actual numbers
• 02Develop sustainability strategies that are ambitious enough to matter and realistic enough to be implemented
• 03Calculate carbon footprints using methodologies and emission factors that require a spreadsheet with 47 tabs
• 04Write ESG reports and sustainability disclosures that satisfy investors, regulators, and activists with very different expectations
• 05Present recommendations to executives and convince them that sustainability investments have ROI, not just good PR
• 06Navigate the gap between what companies say about sustainability and what they're actually willing to spend on it
