Truck Driver (Long Haul)

You'll drive 500+ miles a day hauling freight across the country. It's solitary, scenic, and sometimes mind-numbing. You'll master the art of sleeping in a cab, finding decent truck stop food, and backing a 53-foot trailer into impossibly tight spaces.

What you'll actually do

• 01Drive long distances while following HOS regulations
• 02Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• 03Load, secure, and unload freight
• 04Navigate routes and deal with traffic from people who've never seen an 18-wheeler before
• 05Maintain logbooks and electronic logging devices (ELD)
• 06Back the trailer into docks that were designed for smaller trucks
• 07Find a parking spot at 10 PM (the real challenge)
