What you'll actually do
- 01Approach customers on the lot with exactly the right energy between 'helpful' and 'not pushy' — a line nobody agrees on
- 02Listen to what customers say they want and figure out what they actually want (always a different car)
- 03Negotiate prices, trade-in values, and financing terms while maintaining the fiction that everyone is getting a deal
- 04Memorize trim levels, features, and specs for 20+ models because customers will quiz you
- 05Follow up with leads who said 'I'll think about it' knowing that 80% of them are ghost stories
- 06Work every Saturday and holiday weekend because that's when people buy cars
