Barista

Food Service

You'll memorize 47 drink recipes, steam milk until your wrist gives out, and spell strangers' names wrong on cups — all before 7 AM. It's fast, social, and weirdly satisfying when you nail a latte art rosetta. Tips are decent, the caffeine is free, and you'll develop an unearned opinion about coffee beans within your first week.

What you'll actually do

  • 01Take orders and make drinks — lattes, cappuccinos, cold brews, whatever TikTok invented this week
  • 02Steam milk and pour latte art (or attempt to — most rosettas look like blobs for the first six months)
  • 03Restock syrups, milk, pastries, and cups before you run out mid-rush
  • 04Clean espresso machines, grinders, and blenders between rushes
  • 05Handle the morning rush where every customer is one wrong order away from a meltdown
  • 06Memorize regulars' orders so they feel seen (they will not tip more for this)
  • 07Politely explain that oat milk is, in fact, extra — for the twelfth time today
